A brother and sister enjoy a rainy day, having fun with an umbrella, splashing in puddles, noticing raindrops on a spider’s web, and staring at their reflections in the water – all followed by a warm bath, hot drinks and cookies.

Such a simple idea… yet each of these beautifully observed illustrations is packed with so much descriptive detail.

A real gem of a picturebook – and one of my all-time favourites.
